Newest Doctoral Candidates For May 2023
Monarch Business School Switzerland is proud to announce our latest Doctoral candidates starting for May 2023. The Candidates come from South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania and Switzerland. They will be starting in the Professional PhD, DBA, Dual PhD-DBA, Doctor of Leadership programs. We wish the new Candidates much energy for their studies and welcome them to the Monarch family of scholars.
Nicolas Ofori
Mr. Nicholas Ofori is a Dual PhD / DBA Combined Program Candidate. He holds a Master of Business Administration from The Paris Graduate School of Management and a Master of Public Sector Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He also hold a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the Kwame Nkrumak University of Science and Technology (KNUST). At present, he holds the position of Senior Program Officer with Fairtrade Africa where ha has also performed the roles of Business Development Advisor and Liaison Officer. Previously, he has worked with national Food Bufferstock as Area Manager and with Wienco and Cocoa Abrabopa Association as operations and Agro Extension Manager.
Emmanuel Maro
Mr. Emmanuel Julius Maro is a Doctor of Leadership Candidate. He holds an MBA from Mzumbe University, and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from University of Dar es Salaam. He also holds a Certificate in Directorships from the Institute of Directors in Tanzania. At present, he holds the position of Regional Tax Manager at the Tanzania Revenue Authority where he previously held the positions of Assistant Regional Manager, District Manager and Tax Officer. Previous to the Tax Authority, Mr. Maro held the position of Cost Accountant at Barrack North Mara Gold Mine Ltd. He is a Certified Public Accountant with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Werner Vermeulen
Mr. Werner Vermeulen is a Professional PhD in Finance Candidate. He is an experienced senior level Financial Engineer within the international asset management industry, with a demonstrated history of research, collaboration and working in writing code, building products and product features, design and implement software, to make big data-driven decisions to ensure effective outcomes. He holds a US Masters of Science in Financial Engineering from WorldQuant University in the USA as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate from the Edinburg Business School. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of South Africa. Professional, Mr. Vermeulen holds the position of Financial Engineer at QuantConnect. Previously, he held the position of Financial Engineer at WorldQuant. He is a Chartered Financial Data Professional and a Member of the International Wealth Management, Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Linda Mafu
Ms. Linda Mafu is a Professional PhD Candidate. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Salford. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Adult Education from the University of the Western Cape. Professionally, she holds the position as the Head of the Political and Civil Society Department of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Previously, she has held positions with the World Aids Campaign, Amnesty International South Africa and Medicins Sans Frontiers.
Magnus Quarshie
Mr. Magnus Lincoln Quarshie is a Professional PhD Candidate in Leadership. He holds an MBA in Leadership & Sustainability from the Robert Kennedy College in Cumbria, UK. He also holds a MSc. in Transport and Road Engineering from the Technical University of Delft-International Institute for Infrastructure, The Netherlands as well as a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from KNUST- Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Ghana. At present, he holds the position of CEO of Delin Consult Ltd. Previous to that, he was Country Director at the Institute For Transportation and Development Policy. He is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, a member of the Ghana Consulting Engineers Association. He held the position of President at the Ghana Institution of Engineers as well as at the West African Federation of Engineering Organizations.
Patrick Boadi
Mr. Patrick Boadi is a Doctor of Business Administration Candidate. He holds an MBA from the University of Essex UK and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Cape Coast Ghana. Professionally, he holds the position of Chief Internal Auditor at Consolidated Bank Ghana. Prior to this, was the Chief Internal Auditor for Barclays Bank Ghana, Country Head of Audit for Standard Chartered Bank Gambia, Snr Audit Manager Standard Chartered Bank Ghana. He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) in UK, a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Ghana, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) in USA, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) in USA, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) in USA and a Member of Institute of Directors, Ghana.
