Student Focus: Adu Anane Antwi

Mr. Adu Anane Antwi is a D.Phil. in Governance candidate. He is a chartered accountant and a lawyer, and holds an MBA degree and a BSc. Administration in Accounting degree from the University of Ghana. He is the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana (SEC). Until his current appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Finlaw Consult., a firm of financial consultants and investment lawyers, and a partner in A & A Associates, a firm of chartered accountants. He previously worked as the Director of Corporate Finance & Investment Management at the SEC from 1999 to 2003. He also worked previously as the Director of Investment & Fund Management at the National Health Insurance Authority.

Mr. Antwi has previously served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Ghana School of Law, the Graduate School of the Central University College, the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and the National Banking College, and as a Resource Person for the West African Institute for Economic and Financial Management (WAIFEM), Nigeria. He is a member of the Financial Stability Board Regional Consultative Group for Sub-Saharan Africa and has previously served on a number of boards and financial market committees in Ghana including the Financial Sector Consultative Committee, the Long Term Savings Committee and the National Bond Market Committee.
