Enroll in this course →SWOT is one of the most familiar tools in management, yet familiarity does not guarantee useful analysis. Too often, SWOT exercises produce broad lists based on opinion, confuse internal attributes with external conditions and stop before priorities become decisions.
This one-week applied micro course provides a more disciplined method. You will select a real organisation, define the scope of the analysis and examine its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats using credible evidence. Each factor is tested for significance so that the completed SWOT reflects what genuinely matters rather than everything that can be listed.
You will then use the TOWS matrix to connect internal capabilities with external conditions and develop practical strategic options. The course concludes by translating the strongest priorities into an accountable action plan with responsibilities, measures and review points. The result is a management-ready analytical artefact that can support clearer planning, communication and professional judgement.
Many SWOT exercises end with four unprioritised lists. This course treats SWOT as a disciplined method of strategic judgement: every entry is supported with evidence, tested for significance and connected through TOWS to practical choices. You work with one real organisation throughout and finish with an action plan that identifies priorities, responsibilities, measures and review points.
