During the September 2012 Doctoral Seminar held in Zug, Switzerland Dr. Antoniou, Professor of Management Studies at UGSM-Monarch Business School Switzerland and Fellow of International Business at the University of Leeds, U.K., addressed the doctoral students present and discussed the nature of the relationship between the supervisor and student, which is of utmost importance to a successful program. Dr. Antoniou stressed the importance of the candidate to understand that the supervisor is there to assist them in their research and not to direct them as to what exactly they should do. Otherwise said, the candidate is to be self-directed within their studies. Below is a short clip edited from the longer discussion.
