Monarch Switzerland provides a transparent and accessible tuition structure for all degree levels, including Master, Doctoral, and Post-Doctoral programs. As a Swiss private higher-education institution specializing in advanced management studies, Monarch uses a consistent tuition framework that supports the academic rigor, supervisory guidance, and research activity expected of high-quality European doctoral and post-doctoral programs.
All doctoral, post-doctoral, and master-level degrees follow a quarterly tuition model designed to meet the needs of working professionals pursuing advanced study while maintaining full-time careers. This structure ensures uninterrupted access to faculty supervision, digital library resources, academic mentoring, and the administrative services required for sustained research progress. Monthly payment arrangements are also available for candidates seeking additional financial flexibility.
The tuition model reflects Monarch’s commitment to providing internationally relevant, professionally grounded graduate education with predictable and manageable costs. Extension periods are available across programs at a reduced continuation rate, enabling candidates to complete their research or publication requirements while preserving full academic standing. This approach ensures that doctoral and post-doctoral candidates can achieve impactful scholarly outcomes within a responsible and achievable financial framework.
Unified Tuition Model
Monarch Switzerland follows a unified and transparent tuition model across all Bachelor, Master, Doctoral, and Post-Doctoral programs. As a Swiss doctoral institute specializing in research-based and professionally oriented degrees, Monarch uses a consistent tuition framework that supports both academic rigor and the needs of working professionals. This approach ensures that candidates pursuing advanced study—whether a PhD, DBA, Executive MBA, MPhil, or post-doctoral qualification—understand the full cost structure associated with their education.
Quarterly Tuition for Research-Based Degrees
All Master, Doctoral, and Post-Doctoral programs operate on a quarterly tuition model aligned with the research cycles typical of European graduate education. This structure provides continuous access to faculty supervision, digital library systems, academic support, and administrative services essential for sustained progress in thesis writing, applied research, publication, or manuscript development. The quarterly model also distributes tuition evenly throughout the program, offering predictability for candidates comparing tuition costs across international PhD and DBA programs.
Monthly Payment Options for Working Professionals
Because many Monarch candidates maintain full-time professional roles while completing their graduate or doctoral studies, the School offers the option to convert quarterly tuition into a monthly payment plan. This flexibility supports financial planning and enables candidates to pursue a Swiss doctoral or post-doctoral degree without assuming large upfront financial commitments. The monthly option is particularly beneficial for those enrolled in executive programs or online doctoral pathways requiring long-term financial stability.
Continuation Tuition for Extended Research Periods
If a program extends beyond its standard duration—such as a 24-month DBA or a 36-month PhD—candidates may continue their registration on an annual basis at 50% of the regular tuition rate. This continuation structure preserves full academic standing and ensures uninterrupted access to supervisors, research resources, defense preparation, and publication support. It also aligns with common policies across European doctoral programs, where additional research time is often required for high-quality academic output.
Comprehensive Academic and Research Services Included
Tuition includes access to Monarch’s complete academic and research infrastructure. This comprises supervisor interaction, digital platforms, online library resources, research tools, academic mentoring, and administrative guidance from enrollment through thesis submission or publication completion. The inclusive model ensures that candidates receive the full academic support expected of a Swiss private higher-education institution offering advanced research degrees.
The structured progression of the Doctor of Business Administration ensures that each candidate develops the full range of applied research, analytical, and leadership competencies expected of a doctoral-level professional. By the conclusion of the program, candidates demonstrate mastery in the design and execution of evidence-based inquiry, the capacity to transform organizational challenges into actionable frameworks, and the ability to deliver practical outcomes that enhance managerial effectiveness. Each graduate embodies Monarch Switzerland’s commitment to responsible leadership, ethical decision-making, and the advancement of sound, evidence-based management practice.

Additional Fees
A thesis reading fee of €2,000 is assessed at the end of the doctoral programs to cover the formal evaluation of the final dissertation, manuscript, or article portfolio. For candidates electing to hold an in-person defense, a room fee of €500 applies to support venue preparation and on-site academic coordination. These fees are payable only at the time of submission or defense and are not included in the tuition totals listed above. Please note that all academic doctoral degrees (PhD, PhD-Econ, DSS) require an in-person defense unless a remote format is approved due to verified medical constraints, supported by appropriate documentation and faculty agreement.
Continuation & Extension Policy
Monarch recognizes that some candidates may require additional time beyond the standard duration of their program to complete their research, manuscript, or publication requirements. To support this, all research-based Master, Doctoral, and Post-Doctoral programs may be continued on an annual basis at 50% of the regular tuition rate once the standard study period has elapsed.
Continuation registration preserves the candidate’s full academic standing and maintains access to supervisory guidance, digital library resources, learning platforms, and administrative support. This policy provides the flexibility needed to complete high-quality scholarly work while encouraging candidates to progress responsibly toward final submission, defense, or completion of the required publication portfolio.
Payment & Billing Information
Tuition for all programs is normally invoiced on a quarterly basis, prior to the start of each academic term. Candidates may, however, request a monthly payment arrangement to assist with personal financial planning, particularly when balancing professional responsibilities with advanced study.
Payments are made by bank transfer to Monarch’s designated institutional account, with full details provided in the admission and enrollment documentation. Invoices are issued electronically, and receipts are provided for all payments received. Specific information regarding billing cycles, due dates, and any applicable administrative charges is included in the official Application and Information Package available to prospective candidates.
Supplementary Tuition Information
Tuition fees are paid in advance for the upcoming academic quarter and are non-refundable. This policy ensures uninterrupted access to supervisory guidance, academic resources, and research platforms throughout the candidate’s active period of registration.
Candidates may request to pause their studies; however, tuition fees remain applicable for as long as the candidate holds an active registration in the program. This policy maintains continuity of academic standing and preserves access to supervisory and institutional services during periods of reduced study activity.
A continuation year is defined as any twelve-month period that begins after the candidate has completed the standard duration of the program. Continuation tuition is assessed at the reduced continuation rate and enables candidates to complete their research, manuscript, or publication portfolio while maintaining full academic access.
Tuition covers the research proposal review, manuscript evaluation, and academic feedback processes for the full length of the standard program duration. Evaluation processes required beyond the standard duration fall under continuation registration policies.
