Dr. Scott Farrell is a Professor of Accounting & Finance at Monarch Business School Switzerland. Dr. Scott Farrell is a senior financial executive with over 20 years of international experience in finance and general management. A Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Secretary, he currently serves as the Group Chief Financial Officer for B. Braun Companies in Southern Africa and holds Board positions in the Braun Group in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, and Ghana. B. Braun is a German multinational specializing in pharmaceuticals and medical devices. His career includes senior financial leadership roles in Ireland and South Africa, and he has been recognized as a finalist in the African Access National Business Awards. Dr. Farrell has also been a featured guest speaker at the CFO Africa congress hosted by Marcus Evans in Johannesburg for the past couple of years. 

He completed his DBA at Monarch Switzerland with a dissertation advancing the need for a redefined framework for foreign direct investment in South Africa and its ability to stimulate domestic capital formation. His research examined the factors that contribute to foreign direct investment and domestic economic growth, highlighting the policy instruments that have been successful in similar emerging market economies. His doctoral work challenges conventional investment theory, impacting emerging economies, and contributes to the evolving literature on foreign investment.
