DBA
Experience informed by evidence
Turn professional experience into evidence-based leadership and meaningful organisational impact.
For two decades, Monarch has pioneered “study while you work” doctoral education—helping working professionals pursue advanced scholarship alongside their careers.
A doctorate for professional contribution
The DBA is designed for experienced professionals who want to examine a significant managerial, organisational or sectoral challenge—and turn rigorous inquiry into informed action.
Your professional context informs the inquiry. Faculty guidance, defined milestones and the Monarch Standard Research Method give the work structure, clarity and direction.
Study while you work
Distance-based, asynchronous study and individual faculty mentoring support 24 × 7 participation—work from anywhere, anytime—without a mandatory residency requirement.
DBA
Your doctoral journey
Develop research methods and academic writing through Research Skills I and II.
Develop your research proposal during the programme, in conjunction with faculty, and refine the managerial question to be investigated.
Gather and analyse evidence within your professional or sectoral context using the Monarch Standard Research Method.
Connect findings with applied frameworks and recommendations for professional practice.
Present your completed research and its implications before the Review Committee.
Progress through structured review, feedback and individual academic guidance.
You are not asked to invent a research method from scratch. The MSRM provides an established, faculty-guided framework—saving time and energy for the inquiry itself.
Recognition along the way
Successful completion of the DBA also confers the MA in Business Research under Monarch’s Master-in-Passing framework.

Who this programme is for
Organisational leaders
Senior managers, directors and executives responsible for strategy, transformation, performance or organisational development.
Entrepreneurs & advisers
Entrepreneurs, consultants and advisers seeking an evidence-based way to investigate recurring challenges and strengthen practice.

Admission considers academic preparation, professional experience, research motivation and fit with the programme. Applicants normally hold a recognised bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree can strengthen an application but is not mandatory. Where needed, a tailored bridging route can reinforce the foundations for doctoral study.
Choose a standard 24-month or extended 48-month pathway to suit your professional commitments. Current tuition fees, payment arrangements and continuation conditions are maintained on the programme website.
Talk with our Admissions Office about your background, research interests and the DBA pathway that fits your ambitions.
Programme structure, admissions conditions and fees are subject to current institutional requirements. Please consult the programme webpage and Admissions Office for the latest information before applying.
