Dean’s Scholarship Award

20%

Supporting your next contribution.

The Dean’s Scholarship helps make advanced study more accessible to academically qualified applicants. It recognises that the ambition to undertake meaningful research should be supported by a realistic pathway to meeting the cost of study.

The award honours Dr. Lee Dahringer, Professor Emeritus and Monarch’s first Dean, whose career reflects a sustained commitment to scholarship, teaching and academic leadership.

SPECIAL THREE-MONTH PROVISION

Automatically receive the 20% Dean’s Scholarship

Apply between 1 October and 31 December 2026 inclusive. All applicants to eligible programmes who apply during this period and are admitted receive the scholarship automatically.

No separate scholarship application or financial-need assessment is required during this period. Academic admission requirements remain unchanged.

The 20% tuition reduction applies throughout active registration, including continuation, on both Standard and Extended pathways. The application window ends on 31 December; the awarded tuition support does not end on that date.

Eligible programmes and award conditions

The offer covers the Academic Doctorates, Applied Doctorates (including DCOACH), Executive Doctorate and Master’s Programmes listed on the tuition page. Post-Doctoral Programmes and the Executive MBA are excluded. MMI programmes and other executive education are outside this offer.

Additional fees are not covered. The Dean’s Scholarship may be combined with the separately approved 10% Women’s Scholarship, giving a total 30% reduction of the same eligible tuition amount. Support reduces tuition; it is not a cash payment.

The special provision replaces the separate needs-based application and assessment for this window only. For applications outside these dates, contact Admissions to confirm the applicable award terms.

Before joining Monarch, he was Dean of the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola University in Maryland from 2001 to 2008. He also held deanships at West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics and Butler University’s College of Business Administration, where he held professorships in Marketing. At Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, he held several director positions.

He earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an MBA from the University of Missouri at Columbia and a Bachelor of Science from Western Kentucky University. His academic interests encompass global, social and not-for-profit marketing, consumer issues and policy, product management, multinational workforces and academic administration.

His international experience includes directing the International MBA Programme at Nijenrode University in the Netherlands and visiting professorships at institutions including Innsbruck, Johannes Kepler University Linz, Bocconi, Queensland, HEC in France, Lund and the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He has also taught at the University of North Carolina, the University of Colorado and Iowa State University.

Dr. Dahringer has received research and teaching awards from several universities, chaired AACSB accreditation teams and served on councils of academic deans, faculty senates and curriculum task forces. His service includes the Board of Advisors of the Executive Women International Leadership Academy, programme review for the U.S. Department of Education and the Board of the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools.

Supporting Women in Research

10%

Women’s Scholarship Award

Women make vital contributions to research, bringing expertise, original questions and new perspectives to the challenges facing business and society. Monarch’s Women’s Scholarship recognises these contributions and reflects our commitment to supporting women as researchers and academic leaders.

Through this scholarship, Monarch seeks to make advanced study more accessible and encourage women to develop their ideas, undertake rigorous research and share knowledge that advances their disciplines and professional communities.

Your ideas. Your research. Your contribution.

The award supports aspiring, dedicated women across Monarch’s eligible doctoral and master’s-level academic programmes at MGRI and MBS. It welcomes research across the institution’s academic fields: a proposal does not need to concern gender or women’s issues.

An established leadership title is not required. Assessment considers motivation, commitment to advanced study and the potential to contribute through research, professional practice or community life. Financial need is not a requirement.

A separately assessed award

The Women’s Scholarship provides a 10% reduction of eligible tuition, subject to approval. Unlike the special Dean’s Scholarship provision, it is not automatic upon admission. Female researchers who receive academic acceptance may apply separately for the scholarship, using their programme Application ID and explaining their motivation, commitment and intended contribution.

20% + 10% = 30% tuition support

Women applying to an eligible programme between 1 October and 31 December 2026 receive the automatic 20% Dean’s Scholarship upon admission. They may also apply separately for the 10% Women’s Scholarship. When that award is approved, the two scholarships combine to provide a total 30% reduction of the same eligible tuition amount, not successive discounts.

No separate application is needed for the automatic 20% Dean’s award during this window. The additional 10% Women’s award remains subject to its separate application and assessment.

Post-Doctoral Programmes, the Executive MBA, MMI programmes and other executive education are excluded. Additional fees are not covered. The formal award letter confirms covered tuition and conditions.

ACADEMIC ACCEPTANCE · CLEAR NEXT STEPS

Your route to scholarship support.

Dean’s Scholarship: 1 October–31 December 2026

  1. Submit your programme application within the stated period and retain your Application ID.

  2. Monarch assesses academic eligibility against the programme’s normal admission requirements.

  3. Upon admission to an eligible programme, the 20% Dean’s Scholarship applies automatically. No separate scholarship form or financial-need evidence is required for this offer.

Women’s Scholarship: a separate assessment

  1. Apply to your programme and obtain academic acceptance.

  2. From 1 October 2026, request the relevant Women’s Scholarship application details from Admissions. Use your Application ID to link the request to your accepted programme application.

  3. Prepare a statement of motivation, commitment to advanced study and intended research, professional or community contribution. The award is assessed separately; academic acceptance alone does not guarantee this 10% award.

Read your award confirmation

Approved support is applied as tuition credits, not a cash payment. Your formal confirmation identifies the award, covered tuition and conditions. Where both awards are approved, the 20% Dean’s Scholarship and 10% Women’s Scholarship combine to reduce the same eligible tuition amount by 30%. Additional fees remain payable.

Plan your studies with confidence

Review current tuition and payment arrangements, select an appropriate programme and pathway, and contact Admissions if you need help understanding which provision applies. For Dean’s Scholarship applications outside the special three-month window, confirm the applicable assessment requirements before submitting a scholarship request.
