The route to recognition

CPM · STEPS 01–04
Prepare and align
Build the foundation for CPM review.
Establish professional standing and experience.
Complete or confirm the MBA route.
Substantiate your Primary Practice Domain.
Complete MMI practice and ethics requirements.
Two educational routes. One professional standard.
An accepted external MBA may satisfy only the educational component. It does not automatically exempt an applicant from MMI practice, consulting, ethics, applied-case, evidence or formal-review requirements.

CPM · STEPS 05–08
Demonstration and recognition
Show how advanced knowledge becomes responsible professional judgement.
Develop and document your applied case.
Submit the CPM application.
Complete case presentation and formal review.
Use and maintain your CPM designation.
Application versus CPM standing
CPM Applicant: completing or presenting the evidence required for review; not yet entitled to use CPM. Chartered Professional Manager: formally approved after completing every requirement; entitled to use CPM while maintaining professional standing.
Maintain your standing
- Keep Professional Membership and annual fees current.
- Complete the MMI courses prescribed for each two-year cycle.
- Ensure at least half of required learning relates to the Primary Practice Domain.
Progress towards Fellowship
Fellowship recognises sustained senior contribution, professional leadership and service to management practice. It does not replace CPM: a Fellow retains CPM while both standings remain in good standing.
