Welcoming Prof. Sean Foley to Monarch: Finance Leadership and Applied Market Insight

Monarch Switzerland is pleased to welcome Prof. Sean Foley to its academic faculty, where he will contribute to the finance curriculum both within the MBA program and the expanding Monarch Management Institute (MMI) open course network.

Mr. Foley brings over 25 years of experience in financial leadership, governance, and institutional practice, offering students a rare combination of academic rigor and real-world executive insight. His appointment reflects Monarch’s continued commitment to integrating applied expertise within its teaching model—particularly in areas where theory must be grounded in practice.

His arrival further strengthens Monarch’s positioning at the intersection of academic inquiry and professional application, ensuring that students are exposed to the realities of financial decision-making, governance discipline, and market dynamics as they are experienced within leading institutions.

Professional Background

Prof. Foley is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AltFi Services Group, a firm specializing in accounting, payroll, treasury management, and fractional CFO services for both growth-stage and established organizations. Through this work, he has supported companies navigating operational scale, financial complexity, and governance requirements.

He currently serves as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Audit Committee at TelyRx, an online pharmaceutical company preparing for a public listing. In this role, he provides oversight of financial reporting integrity, internal control frameworks, audit processes, and overall public-company readiness, ensuring that the organization meets the standards expected of a publicly listed entity.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Foley held the position of Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors at MUFG Investor Services, a global asset-servicing business within one of the world’s largest financial institutions. His responsibilities included financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions, regulatory compliance and oversight, governance structures, and the operational finance functions required to support institutional clients managing complex investment structures.

Mr. Foley also spent a significant portion of his career with Ernst & Young LLP and Deloitte LLP, where he worked in both audit and consulting capacities. In these roles, he advised public and private organizations on financial reporting, internal controls, governance frameworks, and operational improvement initiatives, contributing to both compliance and strategic enhancement.

Concurrent with the establishment of AltFi Services Group, Mr. Foley served for two years as a Director of EnviroGold Global Limited (CNSX: NVRO), a clean-technology company focused on the recovery of valuable metals from mine waste and tailings using proprietary processing technology. In this capacity, he contributed to governance oversight and strategic direction within an emerging sector at the intersection of sustainability and resource innovation.
