The Monarch Dual MBA / MSc Combined program is designed to address the critical dimensions of effective management. The program provides a platform that enables the participant to focus on their areas of development and grow their strengths to become a highly effective manager. Participants will develop insight, skills and the confidence to mature into more effective managers within their own workplace environment using evidence based decision making.
The program employs an analytical orientation by design. Research within the MSc component of the program builds on the knowledge gained within the MBA component to research a chosen managerial study domain providing the Candidate with in-depth knowledge within a specific area of study. The program design thereby develops well-rounded candidates that have both a general managerial skill (MBA component) coupled with domain specific knowledge gained through structured intellectual inquiry by way of thesis work (MSc component). Graduates of the program are well suited for positions within the C-Suite (CEO, CFO, COO, CIO) of internationally operating companies or as researchers in Top Consulting Firms, Think Tanks, NGOs/IGOs where evidence based decision making drives large and complex management strategies.

MSc Thesis Component
- Mixed Research Methods Module
- Research Proposal Plan Perfecting Module
- Thesis: Approximately 100 page thesis focusing on an applied management issue. Candidates must show a logical and well-structured analysis and synthesis of a current managerial problem facing a business coupled with academic an theoretical investigation. A set of actionable managerial items are to be delivered. The thesis must be defended at the school.
The Monarch Dual MBA / MSc Combined program gives the Candidate the very best of both practical and academic instruction. The MBA component provides the basis for managerial insight, orientation and understanding of the various core study domains in management thought while the MSc component develops the Candidate on how to sharpen their analytical skills and use data driven decision making as a basis for managerial action. The result is a well-rounded Candidate able to assume even the most challenging managerial or executive positions within a firm.

The program is completed through the Monarch Learning Platform in a remote study, distance learning environment enabling practicing managers to continue working during completion of the coursework and to apply their new knowledge immediately back to their working environments. The program is capped with the completion of a Thesis that focuses on an applied managerial issue. Candidates must present their thesis in front of a Committee at the school.
Given the advanced nature of the Combined MBA/MSc program graduates are eligible to directly enter with advanced standing the Monarch PhD program upon successful completion of the program. Advanced standing entry into Year 2 of the Monarch PhD program is valid for a period of 3 years.
All MBA/MSc Candidates must attend one of the Monarch workshops held at various times during the program. Workshops focus on the skills required to complete thesis work.
Program Start Date
The program has a rolling admission and be started at any time.
Study duration varies depending on the study mode:
- Standard Duration = 2 Years
- Part-Time Duration = 4 Years
The MBA portion of the program is completed online using the Monarch Learning Management System. During the MSc portion of the program the Candidate must attend at least one workshop on sight at the school in order to design the thesis research. The MSc manuscript must be defended at the school at the end of the program.
Program Open To
The program is designed for the working professional with practical work experience. The typical age within the Professional MBA program is above 30 years old. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Dean.
- Graduates from accredited Bachelor programs with upper class standing.
- Candidates lacking the above with substantial managerial experience may be admitted to the program at the discretion of the Dean.
I come from Vietnam with experience working with cross-functional teams in SME Mentoring. Coupled with my academic background from the University of British Columbia and the National University of Singapore, the Monarch Combined MBA/MSc provides the required academic and practical management training I need to further my consulting ability. The program is stimulating and challenging and I look forward to attending the on-site workshop at the Castle in Switzerland. Starting the program has been one of my best career decisions to date.
