This module assists the Doctoral research candidate in fashioning a proper academic research proposal that may be authorized by the Administration thus enabling the candidate to move forward in to the research phase of the program. Through the submission of various iterations of the research proposal candidates will perfect their academic writing style, understand the importance of correct document formatting, as well as develop a better understanding of creating a journey of the research for the reader. The research proposal is the second most important document that the Candidate writes during their doctoral program next to the actual dissertation manuscript. The research proposal module prepares the Candidate for the writing of the dissertation by honing skills in academic writing, formatting, referencing and thesis presentation. Specific sections that are covered include: overview & background of the research, research question formulation, research focus, research methodology, levels-of-analysis and sampling, preliminary literature review, and research budget and timelines. By the end of the module the Candidate will have developed an academic research proposal of high quality that may be used within the faculty of leading universities.
