As a Doctoral Research Institution Monarch Business School Switzerland offers distance post-doctoral programs and faculty training opportunities to existing Doctoral degree holders. The Post-Doctoral Fellowships are combined with the completion of the Doctor of Literature award. Candidates of the Post-Doctoral program are expected to produce new knowledge within the identified field both through internal and external publications as well as through the completion of the Doctor of Literature manuscript. 

Fellowships Available

The Monarch Postdoctoral Candidate will engage at distance in a research thesis jointly decided by the student and the relevant faculty of Monarch Business School. Required output of the Post-Doctoral program is the development and publishing of three academic articles from the thesis work: two published within the Monarch Research Paper Series and one externally.

Increasingly global business is being required to conduct its affairs with a higher standard of equity and responsibility. This requirement manifest itself in various ways across cultures and geographic boundaries. What is considered ethically just in one region may not be so in another. This ethical grey area is fraught with difficulty for managers.

The Study of CSR & GBS fellowship program is aimed at supporting research, both theoretical and empirical, directed towards developing cross-cultural approaches and understanding to the application of CSR & business ethics in a global context.

The program embraces a multidisciplinary approach with an emphasis on design, development, and the use of models in the study of CSR & GBE. The Monarch Postdoctoral Fellowship in CSR & GBE is geared to provide postdoctoral training, an opportunity to broaden research experience along with the opportunity to gain additional skills to pursue a productive scholarship-based academic or industry career. The Fellowship is open to existing Ph.D. holders.

Supervisor

Dr. Jeffrey Henderson holds the positions of Professor of Business Ethics at Monarch Business School Switzerland. He has held the positions of Dean of Studies and Dean of the Faculty at Monarch in the past. Dr. Henderson was an affiliate professor at the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, France. Dr. Henderson has also been a lecturer for real estate finance within the Faculty of Management at McGill University. Dr. Henderson holds a D.Phil. in Business Research from Monarch Business School, a Doctor of Political Economy from SMC University, a Doctorandus (Drs.) and MBA from Nijenrode Unversiteit in The Netherlands. The Monarch Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Leadership facilities learning through broadening research competencies to promote existing qualifications towards transdisciplinarity. A post-doctoral study in Leadership that foster intellectual and personal growth is essential to mastering successful personal and professional success. Through engaging in reflective practice, all fellows will learn how to extract the implicit meaning behind resultant research findings to advance leadership scholarship. Monarch Post-Doctoral  Researchers in Leadership are the next generation of group leaders in sustainability, transformation and organizational cultural change.

Supervisor

Dr. Donald York holds the position of Professor of Leadership Studies and Dean of Student Development at Monarch Business School Switzerland. Dr. York holds a D.Phil. & M.Phil. in Business Research with distinction from Monarch Business School and an M.A. in Counselling & Spirituality from St-Paul University, a college of the University of Ottawa. He also holds a B.A. in Behavioural Neuropsychology from McGill University in Montreal where he also completed a Graduate Diploma in Leadership.

Dr. York’s academic interest focus on: leadership, spirituality, organizaitonal culture and group dynamics. He is an active supervisor and dissertation reviewer at the Master and Doctoral level.

Professionally, he has worked in several hospitals within the Montreal area as a critical care technician within operating rooms and emergency wards where he has been directly responsible for the life support of patients. Dr. York is an active health care professional instructor holding numerous certifications as well as holding the position of Fellow of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.

DOCTOR OF LITERATURE AWARD

Candidates entering any of the Post-Doctoral Fellowships must complete a full Doctor of Literature thesis work. The research domain of the Doctor of Literature thesis must be the same as the Post-Doctoral Fellowship concentration. All applicable research courses must be complete prior to the completion of the Doctor of Literature thesis, these include: Mixed Research Methods, Research Skills #1, Research Skills #2, and the Research Proposal perfecting Module.

Interested Researchers may make their intentions to join the Post-Doctoral program known by submitting the Application form. A member of the Administration will be in contact with you upon receiving the form for further clarification of eligibility. The form must be submitted with a copy of your updated resume or Academic CV, an example of your published work and a copy of your Doctoral dissertation for review of the Administration. POST-DOCTORAL PROGRAM FEE

The Post-Doctoral program is a fee based program intended for working professionals. Monarch Business School does not offer fully sponsored post-doctoral programs. The post-doctoral programs on offer are intended for Professional PhD graduates employed in either an academic or professional capacity who wish to continue their academic training within a Post-Doctoral program that otherwise would not be available to them at other institutions.
